MORVEN is a very historic 18th century home. It was originally owned by New Jersey signer of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Stockton. Mr. Stockton was captured by the British and died a pauper. From 1962 to 1981 Morven was the official residence of the governors of New Jersey.
NASSAU CLUB OF PRINCETON The Nassau Club is a private dining club adjacent to the Princeton University campus, but not affiliated with the university. It was founded in 1889 and offers elegant surroundings and high quality food and service. Dr. Woodrow Wilson was president of the university at the turn of the 20th century. He was also president of the Nassau Club. President Grover Cleveland retired to Princeton after his two terms as president. He was a member of the Nassau Club. There is a relaxed dress code at the Nassau Club. Smart, casual is suggested: no denim; no shorts: stylish sneakers is OK.
PRINCETON UNIVERSITY Founded in 1746 as the College of New Jersey, we shall tour just a fraction of its 2300 acre campus. Highlighted will be Nassau Hall, the 2000 seat gothic chapel, Prospect House, and gardens. PLEASE NOTE: The entire day requires a good deal of walking. (about 2 miles). There are steps to negotiate.
